Subsurface Constructors
Projects often call for either permanent or temporary earth retention systems, which usually play a significant role in cost and schedule. In addition to time and money, an inherent concern with shoring systems is the risk associated with the potential for earth movement. Subsurface Constructors has the engineering capabilities to design a system that is both practical and economical for the geotechnical conditions.

Subsurface Constructors has installed temporary shoring systems for several recent large construction projects in the St. Louis area. One of these projects was the Metrolink Cross County Expansion, which consisted of approximately 440,000 square feet of wall face, spanning about 1.4 miles of the alignment. Subsurface provided the design and construction of several types of shoring for cuts through varying soils, reaching a maximum height of about 40 feet in some areas.

Subsurface is an experienced design-builder of the following earth retention systems:
  • Driven Sheet Pile Walls
  • Soldier Pile Walls
  • Soil Nail Walls
  • Secant Pier Walls
  • Modified Secant Walls
  • Strut and Waler Systems
