Subsurface Constructors installed 1,005 vibro stone columns to improve the maximum bearing pressure beneath the Hilton Garden Inn of East Boston, Massachusetts to 4,000 pounds per square foot. The soil profile beneath the site consists of 13 to 20 feet of miscellaneous urban fill overlying a two-to-seven foot layer of organic sand on a stiff, silty clay. The site required a 5-foot grade raise.
