The Marble Alley Lofts in Downtown Knoxville, Tennessee offer a premium housing option complete with a fitness center, a pool, game areas and an upscale lounge, among other amenities. The large-scale apartment complex required extensive ground improvement work, and Subsurface Constructors installed 496 vibro stone columns to provide a maximum bearing of 6,000 pounds per square foot. The apartment complex sits in a mixture of existing fill soils and clay soils, with a depth range of about 2 to 15 feet.
